Vedic Art is creativity expressed through contemplation: a path to freedom through full concentration on creating. It is painting for anyone wishing to express themselves spontaneously, without expectations or a need for painting skills. Vedic Art does not teach painting; it reminds us how to paint.
Veda means pure, complete knowledge. Vedic means belonging to the Veda and encompasses limitless space and time, from stillness to the dynamics of infinity. Vedic Art is a navigational map through which you express and transform yourself during creation. As you create, consciousness expands to embrace everything.
The 17 Principles open up possibilities and individual creativity. Vedic Art allows limitations to fall away and awakens the inner spirit within you: YOU CAN. YOU HAVE THE ABILITY. YOU WILL MANAGE.
Vedic Art offers a way to create your life. Opening directly from the heart, you experience creativity alongside the feeling that you are a creator. Your heart opens to yourself and your surroundings.
No painting ability or specialist technique is needed for Vedic Art. What matters is awakening to intuitive painting: being HERE and NOW, feeling and enjoying a connection with yourself.
✦ The history of Vedic Art
Vedic Art originates in India and draws on the Vedas: ancient Hindu texts dating back around 5,000 years, containing knowledge of many areas of life.
In 1974, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi passed the 17 Vedic Art Principles to Swedish painter Curt Källman. Källman adapted them to modern needs and set out to make painting a tool for the soul's development, accessible to everyone.
After 14 years of preparation and development, Curt Källman began teaching Vedic Art in Scandinavia in 1988. He opened a Vedic Art painting school on the Swedish island of Öland. His first Vedic Art course in Poland took place in 2009.
✦ My journey with Vedic Art
Discovering Vedic Art and its 17 Principles sparked my curiosity about experiencing them through colour. When I first took a canvas and dared to apply paint, I felt wings at my shoulders and immense freedom. I had not expected so much joy.
The Principles began to manifest more strongly in my life. I saw more and noticed life's beauty. Joy filled my heart. I began enjoying small things and building new foundations from them.
After Level II, I felt fully awakened in this space. I painted day and night, guided by an inner need to bathe in a source of transcendental harmony. I knew with certainty that this was the path I wanted to follow and share with others.
I recommend Vedic Art to everyone ready to experience inner happiness: those awakening to a full life and their own potential, and those seeking fulfilment so that creativity, passion and love can resonate within them.
