During the course, you will discover different silk painting techniques, design and create your own unique silk scarf, and explore the exciting technique of painting on suspended silk. I will introduce you to the wonderful world of silk painting.

✦ THE LEGEND OF SILK
According to Chinese tradition, silk was discovered in the garden of Emperor Huang Di, who lived from 2698 to 2598 BCE. The legend says he asked his wife Xi Lingshi to investigate which pest was damaging the mulberry trees. She noticed white larvae spinning shiny cocoons.
One cocoon accidentally fell into boiling water, revealing a delicate thread that Xi Lingshi wound onto a spool. According to legend, this is how she discovered the secret of silk production.
